TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT DEVICES AND SYSTEMS
Brightway Electronics have provided Traffic management equipment modules, firmware and services to NSW RMS.
Including:
Supplying modules for the 480mm Extra Low Voltage (ELV) Movable Medians designed for the NSW Neutral Bay Tidal Flow Scheme (TFS).
Supplying modules and LED panels for Changeable Message Signs (CMS) for lane closure and merge (ITS).
Sourcing In-pavement LED lights for lane identification and delineation.
Supplying modules/firmware for the F6/M1 integrated fog detection and warning system upgrade.
ELV MOVABLE MEDIANS
A movable median consists of several modules joined together to form a single median strip which may be used to develop specific traffic patterns. One end of the median is anchored and the electrical power and control cables enter at this end.
The updated moveable median redirects the flow of opposing lanes of traffic depending on the time of day and magnitude of traffic travelling in each direction.
The current system redesign has enabled the operating voltage to be lowered from 415V to 48VDC for the drive motor and 24VDC for the brake, this significantly reduces the possible risk of electrocution to motorists and maintenance crews.
Brightway was involved in electronic module selection and procurement.

FOG DETECTION AND WARNING
The M1 Fog Warning System (Waterfall to Bulli Tops) upgrade will replace the existing Fog Warning System which is at end of life.
Brightway was involved in module seclection and procurement, the new system will ensure that the new technology provides the primary road safety functionality. The upgraded system and associated technology will deliver improved reliability and safety for motorists.

IN-PAVEMENT LIGHTS
In-pavement Lights (IPL) deliver dynamic visual lane delineation to ensure traffic safety is maximised during tidal or contraflow operations. The lights are pavement mounted, aligned in a single direction and utilise high lux emitters and can be either constant or flashing.
